A year passed and suddenly my baby was turning one.
After a year of motherhood, I had begun to delve deeply into the creative process that would ultimately support me in sharing this story, as well as support me in integrating the significance of my journey as a whole.
By Llewyn’s birthday, I had completed all nine artworks included throughout this project, and was ready to exhibit the pieces for the first time. Along with one of the women who had attended the birth, we all organized a women’s circle in honour of the many layers of that momentous day.
I hung the tapestries that represented the things I couldn’t articulate about the transformational journey that had and would continue to unfold for me, and got to share my birth story with a group of wild women who had heard the call, and come to bear witness.
It was a very special day, marking both an end and the beginning of the next part of our adventure together as a family.
In a matter of months, our time in BC would come to a close. We had done what we had come there to do, and our next chapter was beckoning us…
…back on the East coast.
